"16 Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living." Romans 6:16 New Living Translation

You say you are not a slave. Perhaps you feel bitter and resentful. Perhaps you lie, cheat, lust, and steal. These attitudes and actions produce slavery.

Some will create anger, anxiety, and fear. They give you unrest. It is not Gods, Yahwehs, plan for your life to experience this inner turmoil. God is a righteous, loving and just God. He will hold you accountable for your actions.

But just as He gave the descendants of the Twelve Tribes a choice: "If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 NASB 1995 He is referring to the living God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He chose to serve the living God.

Jesus Christ also gives you a choice. You can accept or reject the Fathers forgiveness through Jesus' atoning blood on the cross which cleanses you of all sin. If you truly repent of your sin.

Repenting and acceptance of Jesus atoning sacrifice, living for Him from this time forward grants your freedom in this life and assurance of living eternally with Him.

God grants you free will, the choice is yours alone.
